— Our Mission
Living independently shouldn't mean choosing between a roof, a meal, and a friend.
Rent, utilities, weekly housekeeping, and twenty home-cooked meals are all included in one monthly fee.
Fifty-plus neighbors, daily gatherings, and an open-door culture that keeps the days full.
A thoughtful events calendar, shared meals, and the quiet kind of looking-out-for-each-other.
In the heart of Brainerd, minutes from groceries, pharmacies, banks, restaurants, and houses of worship.
Transportation, laundry, maintenance, and concierge support — so you keep your routine, not your chores.
Hobbies rediscovered, card tables in the lounge, evenings on the porch. The good kind of busy.

Our Story
The Caldsted Foundation began as a quiet act of generosity. In 1965, Roland and Elsie Olmsted set out to support retired neighbors of modest means — people who had worked all their lives and deserved to age with dignity, in good company.
The name Caldsted joins their two surnames: a small reminder of where this began, and the values that still guide every decision sixty years later.
